A key component of the professional development of many engineers and technicians is the completion of structured training courses to enhance both their technical and people skills.

The Institute of Measurement and Control offers “Endorsement “of specialist company training courses, where such courses are focused on either their employees or customers engaged in the application of measurement, control and automation and its wider applications.

 

What is the process?

Courses will be reviewed by professionally registered InstMC members who are expert in the relevant areas. However, it is the sole responsibility of the training provider to ensure that such training is delivered in a manner that both satisfies the training objectives and meets acceptable industry and safety standards. Course providers should not use “Endorsement” of their training course to imply InstMC’s overall endorsement of their training activities, rather “Endorsement” is handled on a course-by-course basis.

Once the training course has been “Endorsed” by the InstMC, and subject to our receipt of the agreed fee, the Company may use the InstMC logo and the words “Approved Training” for marketing material for the course and all associated documentation. Endorsement of a training course will normally last for a period of 3 years (unless otherwise agreed), whereupon an application for reassessment is required.

Fees

Fees for the endorsement of training courses through InstMC are decided on a case by case basis.

This is due to the fact that it will depend on the length, structure and complexity of the the course being assessed.

As a guide, course approval with the InstMC tends to cost:

1 x Module* = £300 - £600 + VAT

*A module is generally considered to be equivqalent to a 1-2 course.

Longer running courses with teaching spread out over a longer time frame would be assessed on how many days the course would take if full time, and then a suitable module price applied.

We traditionally offer bulk discounts at 3 + modules which increases as the number of modules goes up
